Yardsticks and Clothespins

I tried to figure out a new, different way to hang my students work this year.  I used clothespins last year, but when the hallway got repainted over the summer- then my clothespins came down.  I didn't want to fool with putting them up.  So, I decided to just make something that would be easy to put up and take down.  So, I got some yardsticks from Amazon....some purple clothespins from Oriental Trading...and some gorilla glue from Wal-Mart!  I love these!  I just attached them to the wall with some mounting tape which is also easy to remove.

  1. Love your idea! I did this before the school year began and just love it! I never wanted to see empty clothespins so I make sure I always have something up. This also saved me a tremendous amount of time!

  2. I am soooo impressed! I have been trying for so long to think of an easy way to hang work. One question - when you say mounting tape, exactly what kind do you mean?

  5. Our school was also just reprinted. Did the mounting tape remove any of the new paint job?

  6. You can also mount the sticks by using adhesive hooks from Dollar tree. They're far less expensive.

  7. 3M makes some good removable mounting tape that won't damage walls (most of the time) if you get the cheap mounting tape, it doesn't come off, it leaves the foam behind, and usually removes the wall paint.
